Public Course Options for Individual Staff Members

Not all employees can attend your onsite group session — new starters, shift workers, casuals and remote staff may need alternative training options. That’s why we offer public first aid and CPR courses at a growing network of convenient, modern venues across Melbourne, Geelong and Regional Victoria.

Staff can book into a time and location that suits their work schedule, with sessions available on weekdays, evenings and weekends. This ensures your business maintains WHS compliance all year round, even when only one or two employees require training or renewal at a time.

All public course participants receive nationally recognised certification and learning that reflects real workplace environments — helping your team respond confidently to incidents such as injuries, sudden illness, cardiac arrest and electrical emergencies.

Popular public training locations include:

  • Melbourne CBD & Inner Suburbs
  • Braeside, Ringwood, Mornington, Westmeadows, Caroline Springs & Cranbourne East
  • Geelong & surrounding areas
  • Stawell, Ararat and Bendigo and other key regional centres

If a staff member can’t attend a scheduled onsite session, they can simply enrol online in a nearby public course — ensuring no gaps in your team’s first aid coverage.

Frequently Asked Questions – Workplace First Aid Training

What first aid training do workplaces legally need?

Most workplaces in Australia are required to ensure staff have access to trained first aiders, appropriate first aid kits and emergency procedures under WHS / OHS laws. Many businesses choose HLTAID011 Provide First Aid and HLTAID009 Provide CPR to meet their obligation to respond to injuries and medical emergencies. We can help assess the level of training needed for your industry and workforce.

How often do workplace first aid and CPR certificates need to be renewed?

CPR must be refreshed every 12 months, while full first aid training is typically renewed every 3 years under industry best practice and WHS expectations.

Do you offer onsite first aid training for workplaces?

Yes. We provide onsite group training for 10 or more staff, delivered directly at your workplace. This reduces downtime, eliminates travel, and allows training to be tailored to your specific hazards, risks and work environment.

What types of workplaces do you train?

We work with businesses of all sizes across offices, retail, hospitality, construction, logistics, warehousing, transport, manufacturing, community services and more. Whether you work in a low-risk or high-risk setting, we have nationally recognised training that aligns with your WHS needs.

What if only one or two staff need training or renewal?

Individual employees can enrol into one of our public first aid and CPR courses across Melbourne, Geelong and Regional Victoria. This is ideal for new starters, contractors and remote workers who can’t attend your group session or for those who were unable to attend their scheduled day.

Can training be scheduled outside of business hours?

Absolutely. To support shift work and operational demands, we offer early morning, evening and weekend delivery. Our trainers are flexible to suit your production schedules and rostering.

What equipment or space do we need to provide for onsite training?

You simply provide a safe indoor space with seating and room for practical activities. We supply all first aid equipment, training manikins and resources required for your staff to complete the course.

Are the certificates nationally recognised?

Yes. All qualifications are accredited and issued by a Nationally Recognised Training provider, making them accepted across Australia for compliance, contractor requirements and employment purposes. We partner with Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO #90909 as our Registered Training Organisation to ensure your trianing meets the highest industry standards. We also have a range of non-accredited courses available for specific skill needs.

How long does workplace first aid training take?

Duration depends on the course and selivery mode selected. Most CPR courses take between 30 minutes (with online work) and  2 hours, and full first aid courses typically run for 2 hours (with online work) or 6 hours including practical assessment. We can discuss training models that minimise downtime for your team.

Can you customise training to suit our specific risks?

Yes — if your workplace has specialised equipment or higher-risk hazards, we incorporate relevant scenarios, equipment use and industry-specific response training to ensure learning is practical and meaningful for your staff.
