Course Description
This course is designed for individuals responsible for supervising the day-to-day implementation of a food safety program across an organisation, process, or food handling area. It is particularly suited to those overseeing the preparation and distribution of food to vulnerable groups, including the elderly, children, infants, pregnant women, and people with medical conditions, immune deficiencies, or allergies.
Participants will be required to demonstrate their practical skills and knowledge through a third-party observation form, ensuring competency is assessed in a real or simulated workplace. Suitable environments may include commercial kitchens, catering production lines, or food preparation areas equipped with standard industry facilities. Observations can take place in the participant’s own workplace or through volunteer roles at community organisations, sports clubs, or local councils.
Please note: Students must be employed or able to arrange a volunteer placement in a suitable food handling environment to complete the required third-party observation. The nominated observer is responsible for verifying and documenting the participant’s performance using the provided third-party report form.
