Course Description
The SITSS00069 Food Safety Supervisor Skill Set (Levels 1 & 2 combined) is designed for those working in the hospitality, transport, and distribution sectors who are responsible for ensuring safe food handling practices. This program provides a comprehensive overview of the roles and responsibilities of a Food Safety Supervisor, covering the full food safety process and the critical steps needed to maintain compliance and prevent food-borne illness.
Participants must demonstrate their practical food safety knowledge and skills through a third-party observation form, which can be completed in a suitable workplace such as a commercial kitchen, catering production line, or other food preparation environment with industry-standard facilities. Observations may also be undertaken in volunteer roles within community centres, local councils, or sporting clubs.
Important: Students must be employed or secure a volunteer placement in a workplace that can provide a qualified third-party observer. The observer will be responsible for witnessing and documenting the participant’s practical performance. Please also note that this course does not issue a NSW Food Safety Supervisor (FSS) certificate. If you require a NSW FSS Certificate, you must complete the NSW-specific Food Safety Supervisor course.
