(HLTFA201A – Provide Basic Emergency Life Support) Duration: 6 hours of face to face training
This course covers the skills and knowledge required to recognise and respond to life threatening emergencies using basic life support measures only. This course stands alone and incorporates the content of unit HLTCPR201A Perform CPR. The Level 1 First Aid course is ideally suited for school students learning first aid, this qualification alone is not appropriate for first aiders in the workplace.
(HLTFA301C – Apply First Aid) Duration: 6 hours of face to face training
This course covers all the necessary skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance. This unit incorporates the content of units HLTCPR201B Perform CPR and HLTFA201B Provide basic emergency life support.
(HLTFA402C – Apply Advanced First Aid + HLTFA403A - Manage First Aid in the Workplace) Duration: 28 hours of face to face training
This course deals with the provision of advanced first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance. This unit also addresses the establishment and maintenance of facilities to enable or facilitate the provision of appropriate first aid in the workplace.
(HLTCPR201B – Perform CPR) Duration: 2½ hours of face to face training
This course covers all of the skills and knowledge required to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines.
(HLTFA404A – Apply Advanced Rresuscitation Techniques) Duration: 6 hours of face to face training
This course will provide participants with the skills and knowledge to understand the safety requirements when handling an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED), as well as the skills to use an AED within the first minutes after a cardiac arrest, as well as skills and knowledge to safely perform oxygen therapy and resuscitation in the workplace.
(PVAEME003C – Administer Oxygen in an Emergency Situation) Duration: 4 hours of face to face training
This course will provide participants with the skills and knowledge to safely perform oxygen therapy and resuscitation in the workplace.
(PUA0PE010B – Operate a semi-automatic Defibrillator in an Emergency) Duration: 3 hours of face to face training
This course will provide participants with the skills and knowledge to understand the safety requirements when handling an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED), as well as the skills to use an AED within the first minutes after a cardiac arrest.
(21886VIC – Course in Emergency Asthma Management) Duration: 3 hours of face to face training
This module will provide participants with the skills and knowledge to deliver blue reliever medication in an asthma attack within State and Territory guidelines in either:
• A children's services setting • A workplace setting
• A schools setting • A sports setting
(22099 VIC – Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis) Duration: 2 hours of face to face training
This course will provide participants with the skills and knowledge to assist a person suffering an anaphylactic reaction until the arrival of medical assistance.
